Creator. Mother. Artist.

Sheryee Hayles known professionally as Reese is an Jamaican-American visual artist from New York , who focuses on creating pieces of artwork that symbolize black love, black excellence, and black unity. From a young age, Reese discovered her creative talent. Art has always been a way for Reese to express herself. She started off as a poet and later became a ballet dancer for 2 years. In school, she fell in love with drawing and later became introduced to painting. After high school, Reese decided to become a cosmetologist  However after a deep reflection, painting have became Reese's favorite form of art and she decided to further her education and continue to pursue her passion.

Since 2014, Reese specializes in acrylic, as well as mixed media (such as added accessories and a use of different mediums) to give her work more of a "3D/ abstract effect". Reese is often inspired by black beauty around her and all over the world and loves to transform that inspiration onto canvas.

In 2020, now being a mother to a beautiful daughter, Reese is even more inspired to create work that shines a light on African-Americans in a positive manner to show how strong, beautiful, and magical they are. She hopes that those who view her work can not only see, but feel themselves and see a reflection of strong, beautiful black queens.
